So we stay in a hostel for the first 2 days in Melbourne as it's circo loco and me and Kee didn't fancy getting ready in the van! The hostel is full of Irish who, believe it or not, love a drink!! We have a right Craic but 2 days in the hostel is quite enough! So we find a campsite and move to werribee! Welcome to hillbilly town! We rock up to the campsite in our beloved Bruce, to find rednecks and hillbillys who are permanent residents on the campsite! But we plod on and get in with the locals! One lovely old couple - Bev and Bill!!!!! Make us feel right at home and let us in their trailer and give us some home cooked food! Our plan is to do a bit of work in Melbourne but with the first two nights being -5 we decide that living in a van wen it's so cold is not a great idea. We decide to explore Melbourne then head North for some sun! In Melbourne is the comedy festival so we go to watch a British comedian who isn't so funny! We love Melbourne the city is beautiful and the shopping is lethal!! Cool city!! We explore Melbourne with a few bottles of wine and some good food! Deano goes to see the cricket ground and F1 circuit and the austrailan open tennis arena and the girlies sample some more local wine!
We also visit phillip island, here we see the penguin parade. Every night tourists like ourselves can pay to watch around 800 penguins waddle out of the sea and go into their little burrows! So we did we waited and saw 800 penguins waddle out of the sea and get washed bk out again, then try and waddle out and then get washed back out again! It was very funny and they were extremely cute.
As the weather was glorious we decided to do something none of us have done before....... Fishing!! Now this is not a past time either of us usually do so we went to a retreat where u get a little teaching then ur out on ur own, we all caught a rainbow trout and then ate it for dinner!
We end our time in Melbourne by visiting the skydeck which is the largest building in the southern hemisphere, the view from the top of melbourne at night is amazing, were we bump into the couple that we recognised from Ibiza 2010 in Ko sumaui small world!! We then find a spot on the beach front to park Bruce and wake up to a seaview and brekky on the beach, For a few days soaking up some much needed sunshine... Not a bad life!!! Two of the worlds best citys done heading to adelaide now were it's world famous for producing wine!! Saaaarnd!!
