So we book our coach journey to Phuket from the official tourist office in Bangkok. The journey costs us a little more than the backstreet travel agents on koh San road but it's worth it because this is run by the Thai government so it can't be a scam...... Yeah right! We were promised a V.I.P bus with no changes straight to Phuket! At 4am it is pitch black and we are stranded in the middle of nowhere just dumped in an abandoned cafe with bus seats as chairs, dogs roaming round frothing at the mouth aka with rabies! Near a lake which looked like a crocodile swamp. Now us 3 idiots can make the best out of a bad situation but as we look at each we start to feel a little worried!
After a 2 hour wait at the abandoned cafe it is now around 6am and the sun is beginning to come up a man is shouting Phuket at us so due to a huge communication barrier we follow him with no idea what awaits us. He takes us to a pick up truck where he crams around 20 people on the back and the 3 idiots up front, he then dumps is at another cafe and tells us to wait for the next bus! Another hour passes, we have been travelling for 12 hours the sun is pounding on us and theres no sign of any bus!
Finally another Thai man tells us we can get in a mini bus for an extra fee!!!!
We are now at breaking point, tired hungry and HOT! So we pay the extra fee along with 12 others and hop into the mini van! 3 hours later we are still in the mini van we can't move a muscle because the mini van is crammed with people and luggage! this tipped us all over the edge and neadless to say a few tantrums came out from all 3 idiots!(especially Dean)
We arrive in Phuket after a traumatic journey of 16 hours, we have nowhere to stay and quite frankly we are P****d off! 2 helpfull German lads ring their hotel and ask if there's any rooms, bonus we have somewhere to stay,,,, devoed when we find out the Germans don't know where the hotel is, so we start walking with 20kilo backpacks in the scorching sun, Kee has an Anna style tantrum when her £2 asda rucksack splits and everything falls out (seemed like a bargain at the time!) but all is well when we arrive at our hotel cheap as chips and top class room! Welcome to phuket!!!
