So after lots and lots of relaxing, it was time for some getting spandangled! And Samui was the place for this! We had booked a place to stay near a beach but as you have probably realised from reading this blog we never get it right and our beach hut was on the side of the island where there was jack s***! So we hired out a clapped out safari jeep which was an old banger but we loved it! The steering wheel felt like it was gonna come off and when u turn on the air con, it poured with water onto the open electrical wires! Safe as houses - think not! But safety over here is not really a priority! There are 3 deaths a week from driving accidents and no wonder, a local was telling us that if a motorist is caught drink driving even if they are bladdered, the police take them in to the station, give them a bit of water wait for and hour or 2 until they are a bit sober and send them on their way bk in the vehicle!! Standard behaviour for Thailand! We had a wicked day exploring the island in our jeep and ending up doing a bit of shopping in a traditional Thai Market and going seeing Hughie a fellow manc who give us a few tips on the island we then moved closer to where the night life was and prepared for New years eve and the full moon party!
New years eve was here and we were ready to rumble! With a bottle of White spirit called CHAMBERS!!! We were surely in for a messy night! As we were in Samui and the full moon party was on Kopangan we had to book a speed boat to the next island, we booked it for 9pm which give us plenty of time for pre moon party preparations! We were all giddy and on our way! We had to wait for the speed boat ona near by beach, trouble Is there were already around 200 people waiting to get across and only 2 speed boats which carried around 10 people! 1 speed boat breaks down! Uh oh! We let the new year in getting on the speed boat! But as there was a bar on the beach, music pumpin and 200 other people 'in the same boat' so to speak we had a great time! We eventually arrive at Ko pangan which was crazy! A mahoooosive beach party, everyone drinkin buckets and letting in 2012 with a bang! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
