Day 5 - Sunbathing and drunkenness...

I had a very slow start to the day today - I didn't even make it to breakfast! What a lazy s***...But I loved the lie-in, and was ready for some SERIOUS sunbathing. We lazed by the pool for a couple of hours, and after lunch at my fave Tranquilo, we had a little journey in Costas to the village of Pyrgos. Situated on top of a hill in the middle of the island, Pyrgos is the prettiest of the villages we've explored. It has a beautiful church and a ruined castle at the very top of the village. The views from here of the whole island are stunning. Have a look at the pics! They don't really do it justice but you get a good sense of it.

It was particularly hot walking around the tiny, steep streets of Pyrgos, so on returning to Perissa I just had to dive into the sea to cool off...We enjoyed a relaxing couple of hours in the late afternoon sun on the beach, and then got ready for dindins. A guy travelling solo who is staying at our hotel joined us for dinner in the main part of Perissa, which was lovely, and then feeling very merry we carried on drinking the night away at Tranquilo with him and a couple of other twentysomethings, fools that we are! Shots and cocktails, WHOOP! So the night ended very drunkenly, but it was great! And that's about it for day 5 - I think these blogs will become progressively shorter as we are not planning on doing anything strenuous for the final couple of days...but I will still keep you posted!
