There are only two days left until our departure!
Since our town's annual sidewalk sales went up yesterday, Mom and I decided to have a look around to shop for last minute clothing essentials. Morocco is an Arab country, which means that most of the population practices a religion within the Muslim or Islam faith. Because of this, revealing clothing (tank tops, shorts, tight clothing) is seen as--you guessed it--revealing, and also an embarassment to the family of the clothing-bearer. To the natives, Westerners in revealing clothing are pitied for their families and viewed as a disgrace to the West. Women and men alike dress very modestly in Morocco and visitors should be as well.
With that in mind, Mom and I shopped for the most modest yet cool clothing we could find due to the hot weather there. I'll post more pictures when the rest of the clothes are out of the wash, but the default picture for this blog entry is a pair of pants that will be traveling with me in my carry-on.
