The Wandering Rupa
Well we woke up - late - feeling a bit sorry for ourselves and carried on through the Snowy Mountains and along the Snowy River. Still feeling a bit tiddly from the night before we stopped to help an elderly couple who'd broken down at the side of the road and ended up driving the ladt into the nearest town for a garage. Our new-found friend - Daphne - then had to endure an hour's drive with a group of half-dead backpackers demanding that she had her photgraph taken with us and yet more chants of "we love you Daphne, we do". The poor dear is probably in therapy now!
We dragged ourselves along a 10km walk through the main mountain range of the area and drove - uncharacteristically subdued - into Lakes Entrance, Jindebyne where we stayed in a beautiful hotel with dorm balconies overlooking a gorgeous lake. We decided to wake up a little and spent the afternoon on the lake. A few of us had the bright idea of climbing aboard an inflatable hot-dog which was secured to the back of a speed boat - it soon cured my hangover let me tell you! Various silliness followed including lots of girly shrieking and falling off (and me managing to completely lose my bikini bottoms - twice) before we took off for dinner. A few of us had bought port and wine from the wine-tasting debacle and so we then had a very civilised evening of Port and Stilton and rowdy drinking games. If my head the next morning is any indication I think I've developed a problem.........
