So after a few days of pre-booked accommodation, we were fortunate enough to have some free lodging at our friend Jacqui's house. Thank you Jacqui for giving us your keys and telling your housemates to expect us! Unfortunately we took Tommy by surprise anyway... wandering through the house at 10am opening doors and looking for signs of life. Poor Tommy was out to it after a big night drinking and didn't even have pants on when we stumbled into his bedroom asking where Jacqui's room was. Hlarious!
As is usual for us, the first thing we did in a new seting was go exploring. I had a feeling there was supposed to be a lake nearby so I was on the lookout for that. Eventually we found ourselves by the highway and could see through the trees and woods that there was something big and white on the other side. After five minutes of wandering around and trying to find a legitimate way to get through to the "whiteness", we did a bit of detouring (see Straigh on Detour ;) haha) and crossed our fingers and hoped there were no big mumma black bears nearby and poked through the woods. The views that met us were well worth it.
The trees opened up to a wide-open field that backed onto the snow-capped mountains of the Whistler-Blackcomb resort and surrounds. A light mist hung over the sporting oval, adding a certain something special to the serenity and quiet of the moment. Sjane promptly went trotting across the field to explore and take in more of this exciting wide-open view!
