Never was a trip complete till one experiences the coast of a country and Chaung Tha was our pick. What the tuk tuk driver couldn't do a stranger on a moped could, within moments of arriving we negotiated ourselves a private villa in Shwe Ya Minn Guesthouse. The cheapest room turned out to be the greatest room and we made ourselves at home. With sunrise and a hearty breakfast we soon realised we had found ourselves a gem. Unbeknown to us we'd landed ourselves in the Burmese equivalent of the Costa Del Sol. Tourists here were as rare as blue steak. We positioned ourselves on the beach with the obligatory chicken fried rice and enjoyed the spectacle that unfolded before us. Joyous cries of a nation at play, it was unique to our travels and a joy to behold. Having constructed what was easily the greatest sand castle know to man with the help of the local children, giving them an hour of happiness away from their life of selling crabs. We retreated to our villa and enjoyed the now.
