Woke up to rain and lots of it. As we set off through Arkansas the weather got steadily worse, making Arkansas look a lot like England. Very green, lots of trees and rolling hills and RAIN!! It finally abated about 40 miles before the Tennessee border. So we got to see cotton growing in the fields and baled up at the sides of the road. That was pretty cool, as none of us had ever seen cotton growing before. Then Jerome and I got to see the Mississippi River for the first time as we drove in to downtown Memphis. So for now we are holed up in a Days Inn just one block from Graceland. Our hotel is sooooo tacky, (but clean and roach free). They have Elvis songs piped into every public area 24/7. The pool is guitar shaped, and every picture in every room is Elvis. Add to that the Elvis movie channels on the TV and you have a real Elvis fest!! So tomorrow we are Graceland bound...can't wait.
