We had another great day today. We went on a tour to Pele Island, to the North of the island of Efate. We were picked up at 8.30 by our guide, John. We drove up the western edge of Efate, through many villages. We passed the site of the Survivor Vanuatu series and Havanah Harbour, where the US Army were based during WWII. Had an awesome night!! Tonight we all went to the Nambawan Cafe for dinner, they make great pizzas there and on Wednesday's, Fridays and Sunday's they have a moonlight cinema where they put up a big screen and project a movie onto it. Well, we got home from the hospital at about 2.30am after Shiann received a litre of saline via IV. The ambulance driver, who was about 5 foot nothing and about as round, with the biggest bulbous nose I've ever seen, drove us back to the hotel in the ambulance. I spoke too soon. Shiann developed fever, diarrhoea and continued to vomit. She became quite dehydrated and wasn't able to swallow the Panadol. After consultation with my ER nurse friend via facebook and Ping, we hailed a minibus and headed to the hospital. When we arrived, I became more worried. Well Shiann has had a sleep and is keeping water down now and has just finished an ice block, so fingers crossed she's on the road to recovery. She's still not 100%, but is alot perkier. I think it was a touch of sunstroke from yesterdays adventures.
