Well hello everyone!!!
It's not been long since I last updated, however feel like i've done a fair amount, and this therefore deserves a blog update.
So we took an overnight train to Hue, and arrived early in the morning - quickly dumped our stuff and took a walk to the imperial palace, which is very similar to the one in Beijing, just not on such a grand scale. Bloody boiling though, but don't worry mum - lots and lots of suncream was plastered on but that didn't stop me toasting, not quite to a crisp though as i'm trying my hardest to build up my tan slowly, I do have until mid April to get one.
Any way . . . group went out for dinner, which as i had mentioned is more expensive that what i'm used to. Got into a really bad habit of converting everything from Vietnamese Dong into pound and then into Yuan, and then decide if it is expensive or not. Meal was spectacular though, with rice paper and banana leaves, with whatever you put in it. Also and i'm not sure you'll believe cause i'm not sure yet if i believe it myself, but I had prawn crackers. Not a single prawn cracker was consumed in my entire time in China, but they taste just as good in Vietnam as they do back home.
Next day, although i'm not sure my travel insurance covers it, i went on a motorbike tour. Yes mum; I wore a helmet, and no I didn't drive it I was only a passenger. But it was great, worth it for anyone going to Hue. We started early in the morning, and first stop was a little village were I got my palm read again. Completely different future to last time though, and this one was much better so I'm going with this one. I'm going to marry at 30, however not to the man i love but i will still be very happy, however will still think about my true love on a regular basis. I will have a baby girl when i'm 31 and a baby boy when i'm 35. I have to wait until at least 30 to marry, cause if i get married to the man of my dreams it won't last. On the whole I'm ok with my future lol.
Couple more stops along the way, one of which was to one of the emperors tombs and we stopped for lunch at a monestry, so a completely vegetarian meal, and once again . . . prawn crackers. What more could you ask for from a good day out. Got to see lots of the coutryside, driving past rice paddys and men on the river fishing. Also went to where they used to hold tiger and elephant fighting back in the day when that was legal.
Trip was expensive but totally worth it. Many people back in the hotel then started drinking, I refrained as it was too hot and I knew we had to get up early to get a bus. Mez on the other hand, drank and drank and drank. Then threw up and threw up and yep threw up, for basically the entire bus journey the next day to where I am now, Hoi An. Its time like them that I'm grateful for having my sensible moments.
So currently in Hoi An, but i'll update from here later.
