Rested the whole of Saturday, only went out for dinner and then to market for a beer with the boys. At the market we organised for them to cook us snake for the next night, meant to be mega spicy. Sunday, Matt, Scott and I planned to go to the Changsha musuem, set of about 11.30 and got bus to Waulking Street, where we had lunch in a small eatery thing on the side of the road. In typical Chinese style, we arrived at the musuem at 14.30, not exactly late however...

so my first week is now done, thank god. 10 grade 2 lessons, 4 grade 4 classes, 1 grade 6 and 1, and 2 kindergarten lessons. so tired now lol. Classes at the other 2 schools were very different from the boarding school. At the east campus the children come from farming backgrounds whilst the kids who go to the Shazitang campus have been learning english for many years - so more advanced. 5 more lessons down :D today went much better than yesterday, lot more confidence and class were much better behaved. Scrapped trying to play "heads down thumbs up" cause they cheat way to much, and "huggy bear" was a good alternative. Even with the limited space in the classroom, it worked well and the kids were really into it. Chaos, destruction, manic, disobedient, uncooperative, disaster, bedlam, commotion, hectic - all these words would not even begin to describe how my first class went. Did they listen, course not!!! Did they understand, course not!!! Did my assistant translate EVERYTHING, yes. wrote my last blog entry on Fri early afternoon - instead of my nap (hope u appreciate that) later that day we went to the Kindergarten that i'l be teaching at. There are three different age groups here, I've been given the youngest and the oldest to teach, one class of each.
