Apologies to everyone for the delay in entry, we've been out in the sticks for the past week or so.
Well..... what it is... is this...
After a couple of crazy nights in New Orleans we moved on into Houston, Texas caught the Houston Astros v's Texas Rangers baseball game, we did'nt have a clue what was going on but it was a good spectacle.
From here we moved on to San Antonio, went to see the Alamo and went tubing, basically floating down a river on an inner tube with a spare inner tube with a cool box filled with beer... B.E.Autiful!!!. On the evening we went out to a cowboy bar, now I was a little worried what with Brokeback Mountain, but after a couple of Bud's me and Gem were two stepping to Dolly Parton!!!!
From here we travelled on to Del Rio, a border town with Mexico, so we went over the border to get the stamp in the passport and also have a couple of Tequilla'a and Corona's.
From here we moved on to Monument Valley, I cant explain how beautiful this place is, we spent the night in the middle of no-where, I slept out under the stars, Gem was a bit worried about the Coyote's so spent the night in a traditional Navajo hut. We both watched the sun rise in the morning it was unreal, check the photos once I upload them!!!!
We then moved on to the Grand Canyon... Bloody Hell!!!!!!!! you've never seen anything like it in your life!!!!!! I mean, I thought the Quarry down on Droppingwell Road was impressive, but its the size of it, it's bloody massive. We took a helicopter flight over the Canyon which is something we'll remember forever. The next day we went on a 9 mile hike down into the Canyon, it makes you realise how small you really are.
We the moved on to Pariah Canyon where we stopped on a 'Cowboy Ranch' Gem went on a horse ride with some of the group which she really enjoyed, she was on a black and white horse called Oreo. I told her i said "you're not getting me on one of those bloody things!!!" so I chilled, to be honest I was still getting over the chaffing from the Grand Canyon hike and thought a horse back ride would do me no favours!!!!!
Spent a couple of nights in Zion National Park where we justed chilled, then moved onto Las Vegas! Now this could have gone one of two ways and we could have been back alot sooner than planned, but it worked out well.
We are now in LA, just been down to Muscle Beach with the lads to work on the pecs, you know shock the body.... keep it guessing!
We have said goodbye to some of the group who we've been with for the last 21 days, it's quite emotional as we've got to know these people really well. All in all the trek was brilliant, not just because of the places we've been but the 13 people who we've shared the experience with, some real characters!!
We are going down to San Deigo tommorow to chill for a few days before flying out the the Cook Islands on the 13th...... to chill for two weeks.
Bare with us untill we can get the photo's uploaded, you'll be able to see what we've been upto more than we can describe in a couple of paragraphs!!
Thankyou all for the messages and keep 'em coming!!
We miss you all dearly!!
