Hello greetings from Singapore.
We are about to have our third night in Singapore but before that we last left you in Sydney. We were staying in Newtown which is quite a cool part of the city in a nice house share type hostel which we really liked. Spent the last days in Oz exploring the parts of Sydney we had missed, we went to Manly Beachm getting the ferry there was really good great views looking back at the Opera house, Harbour bridge and the city. On our last day we had our final injections and picked up our malaria tablets, a cool 550 dollars later our arms weren't the only things hurting! After that we met up with Dani and her partner Riv for dinner and a drink, thanks ladies.
Wednesday we boarded our flight to Singapore, can't get enough of Quantas, the pilot put our minds at rest saying he would try to avoid the cyclone in Broome, thank christ he did!
We landed in the most hot and humid weather ever in the world ever, it was 10.30pm and felt like a sauna. Got to our hostel and crashed. The next morning out exploring we were wondering towards city centre when we saw the most ridiculous looking building, the Marina Sands hotel is three separate sky scrapers with a boat looking roof connecting all three, google it its amazing. Its got the worlds largest and highest infinty pool on top. We browsed around the poshest flashest shopping mall and ate at a hawker centre before hitting the bars along the river for the night. At one pub we joined a pub quiz 3 rounds in and scored a very respectable last place, the Singapore trivia let us down. 200 dollars later, this is the most expensive place to drink in the universe, had a really good night.
Today flagging slightly from 4 hours sleep, we went to an electronic specialty mall to get Eddie a new phone (drunken dropping had finally killed the last one) we attacked Chinatown which was cool. Very busy as its gearing up for New Year next week, ate again eventually at a little cafe the service was crazy Eddies rice done in 2 mins but Fays satay pork took an hour, still it was nice watching the fish being plucked from the tanks into the frying pan. We browsed a few more malls down Orchard Road and went to watch Girl with the Dragon Tattoo before strolling back through the bright lights and crowds of Little India where a harvest festival was in full swing.
Off to bed now for some well needed sleep before more exploring tommorrow, we love this city.
