Finally - a decent breakfast buffet. Made it to the pool for about 10 and lazed round until lunch. Annelise was pondering the next stage of our route. It seemed logical to extend our stay in Koh Muk to give us another couple of days to plan. The sound of the longtail fishing boats driving past was almost as hypnotic at the Qunci groove and I was snoozing before long.
The air was very still and humid. Fortunately the pool water was cool and the coconut tree canopy offered some useful shade from the mid day sun. 50 pages later it was lunchtime. More noodles and fried rice before braving the crabs for a dip in the sea after lunch.
I ventured out later on the mountain bike to explore the retail outlets in the village. Mission accomplished: water, cold Singha and chocolate biscuits slung from the handlebars.
Annelise had struck up a conversation with a couple from Munich - they knew the region well and told us about some great places which hadn't made it into the LP.
Took in sun downers on a lounger on our decking and contemplated life back home. It now seems a long way away. Retired inside as the aircon had been switched on, got under the sheet and idly watched a film with Mark Wahlberg, Danny Glover and lot of shooting.
Emerged from our cool cocoon and crab dodged up to dinner. Red curry and seafood fried rice. We can't wait for a good steak!
