Next stop after Savannah is Daytona Beach for 3 nights! Arrived at the hotel about 3pm and its fair to say it is the most hideous looking hotel on the entire beach boulevard!! Its painted pepto bismo pink and looks rank, old and dirty! once inside it didnt get much better the inside is painted an interesting shade of aqua green/blue with some questionable fixtures and fittings. Almost forgot to mention the really funky smell in the room when you first walked in! It was for the most part clean and was on the beach so didnt want to complain too much!!

Spent the first afternoon driving round in the car taking everything in and stopped at the supermarket for dinner supplies. Had dinner in the room, watched trashy american TV and relaxed!

Day 2 was supposed to be a trip to the kennedy space centre however the kid within us won over and it was off to universal islands of adventure and universal studios! You get a pass which allows access to the 2 parks so we were there for park opening at 9am and stayed all day not leaving until about 8!! Managed to get round the two parks and even though there were long lines for most rides we got round everything we wanted and even had 2 shots on some of the rollercoasters! Definitely getting old though as after 3 in a row we had to sit down for 10 min cause we both felt a bit sick!! Left the park to head back to Daytona which was about an hours drive but got stuck in the worst rain storm i have ever seen! The rain at times was so heavy that the wipers couldnt keep up and you literally couldnt see and had to stop in the middle of the highway until it eased off enough to see again! There were lightening forks all around us too!! It would only burst heavy for a few seconds but its so scary when your in a moving car in the middle of a 5 lane highway!! Loads of cars had to put on their hazard lights in the hard shoulder or in the middle of the road! We had to drive at 15mph for about 30 minutes until we drove out the storm it was unbelievable! Made it home safely if maybe a bit shaken (well i was, mike was just desperate for a beer!).

Day 3 Very boring day to report to you all just slept all day on the beach in the sun. Most exciting thing was me braving going into the ocean for the first time sice arriving in the states!! How i am gonna do scuba diving i have no idea cause i am such a big scardy cat!! Watch this space!

Oh actually something exciting did happen... When i was cooking the pasta on the electic hob in the metal pan stirring it with a metal fork i couldnt work out why i was getting pins and needles everytime i put the fork in the water and was amusing myself with this phenemenon for a good 15 mins before mike saw me and on his further investigation told me that i was getting an electric shock from the cooker every time i put the fork in the pan!! Ah these cheap hotels really are gonna kill me!! Bring on Miami and another pot luck hotel!!
