Day 134 - Melbourne, the last day in Oz and our sum up! Monday 27th February 2012

We were up, packed and out of the house by 10.30am and so headed to a little café on the front in Lorne for a farewell coffee. After our flat whites we waved goodbye to Ben, Gillian and the kids and started our drive to Melbourne airport to drop off mum and Stu.

After about an hour we arrived at the airport and unloaded the car of all mum and Stu's stuff - this consisted of 3 suitcases and a didgeridoo!! After a few tears from mum and a hug from Stu we waved them off for their flight back to the UK. We also said our goodbyes to Kaye and thanked her for all she'd done for us - putting us up and cooking us some brilliant dinners!

Derek then drove us into Melbourne city centre and after a bit of driving around, we finally found our hostel. We said our goodbyes and thank you's - Derek and the rest of the Poulton's have been so good to us and we'll miss them just as much as we'll miss Derek's homebrew!!

Once we got our bags in the hostel, we headed back and got on the free tram - we jumped off at Federation square only for the heavens to open and we got drenched! Wet and a bit fed up we headed back to the hostel, grabbed a kebab on the way and also bumped into some friends from Sydney, Scott & Rhona… Back in our room we stuffed our faces and hit the sack, tomorrow we fly to NEW ZEALAND!!!

We've encountered and been bitten by pretty much every bug in Australia with the exception of the ones that kill you - we're still here!

We've eaten far too much pasta and bread - its cheap!

We've heard weird songs - Scared little guys tune about OZ and the wildlife that kills you
