Hi Everyone,
Just a quick note to say hi! We have thoroughy enjoyed our Egypt experience so far. The country is so unique and diverse it is amazing - We have never been anywhere like it. In 10 days we have been to the Pyramids, temples and learnt all about Ancient Egypt, we have relaxed poolside sipping drinks and lazing in the sun, we have been travelling in armed convoys between various sites, we have cruised in felucca boats, taken a 5 star cruise boat, and now we are living it up in arguably the best dive site in the world, Dahab. We went for our first dive in a year this afternoon and absolutely loved it - we are now booked in for three more, one into a canyon on the bottom of the Red Sea. Can't wait! This place is amazing - of a night we can sit in a Bedouin tent, smoking Sheesha (flavoured tobacco!) out of a big waterpipe, and watch the lights of Saudi Arabia flicker over the Red sea in the distance. Truly unique! This has definitely exceeded our expectations. Only a couple more days here, then we climb the 4000 steps of Mount Sinai to see where Moses recieved the 10 commandments, before heading back to Cairo to see more of the modern day metropolis. The weather here hit 42 in Abu Simbel (on the Sudanese border) so It makes a nice change from rainy London!
After that we are off to Delhi so we will write again when we get a chance.
The Deans!
