Hello again everyone. So I'm writing this past tense as we have already left Ko Chang and are actually in a place called Chantaburi which is on the way up Thailand towards the border crossing for Cambodia and Ankor Wat which is our next stop for New years.
So then all about Ko Chang. We arrived there around a week and a half ago after sadly leaving Ko Samet behind and all the good times we had on that fun party island. Ko Chang was just as nice though if not more chilled out defo 20 times as big. We decided to head for Lonely Beach on he South West Coast of the Island as a few of us were told thats where its at. So we rocked up after a 40 minutes taxi truck ride after the ferry to the Treehouse huts. Giot all booke din but with two to a room and only a double bed baely fitting in the hut we decided to leave our bags and go search for cheaper accomodation as treehouse told us to pay when we left and no deposit was asked for. Searched for Paradise Cottage but no luck there but we found these french run huts on the main road in Lonely Beach. Only a 5 minute walk from the beach and all the bars, well all three of them along the beach, 4 included the treehouse deck. So we decided just to take this nicer accom with an en-suite hot water all for only 400B, 200 each a nihgt which is just under 3 pound, sorry.........
A quiet first night turned into bucket loads of bozze and bottles of Changs and of course we/I had to get chatty with the ladies as the boys are a bit shy. So we met some lovely ladies from Sweden and a lass from London and they became our new best friends for the duration aswell as Package and a lovely girl Jorika-ka-ka-ka from Holland. We spent days at the beach sunning it up for as long as possible and the dipping in the sea. Nicky with his sea aerobics always gave us a grin aswell as the random conversations involving history and the Paegans!!, goad i wish they never existing, they are always involved!!. We took Kayaks out and explored some small islands off the coast one afternoon and witnessed the most amazing sunset ever while returning to the beach. Took the scooters out to explore the whole island and the waterfalls also with a few chilly but refreshing dips in them along the way.
Then there was the Xmas eve Party as the Siam Hut on the ebach. Plenty of buckets and all of us getting sloshed was great fun and we partied well into the early morning, say 6am!!.
Chrismtas morning we had planned to go Elephant Trekking, bit random but something to remember for a lifetime thats for sure. Esp with a stinking hangover and not feeling took good with that Elephant stench. We all survived though and had a sweet afternoon down the beach again just chilling out. Thats all Iwanted for Christmas this year.
Ko Chang was amazing all in all and as I'm writing this after we left my imnd is a bit jaded with all the laughs we had but the pics can tell all the stories when I put the selected albums up.
More to come from Cambodia and New Years, wish I was down for the Full Moon Party but we have all that to look forward to early next year after Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Chang Mai.
Toddle o for now\, check you on the flip side.
