Wake up call was at 6.15 this morning ugh! After breakfast we headed towards Switzerland with a stop in Bologna to see the twin leaning towers and Piazza Maggiore. You had to look pretty hard but the towers did have a bit of a lean on them.We only spent an hour here but we did find a museum which we had a quick look in and a church we peeked at and l tried on some clothes without buying, pretty good for me.By then it was time to head back to the square to meet the tour leader then walk back to the bus for more driving. Our journey today is 420k's.On the way to Lugano we passed Lake Como which is famous because of the rich and famous, it looked pretty nice though. We reached Lugano at around 4pm and after we checked in Mum and l did a bit of exploring. We walked through one of the many piazza's onto the lake shore where we caught a little train that took us for a drive around the town for about an hour.It was a lot of fun. After that we headed for the funicolare, which took us up a steep hill to the train station where we took a few snaps then headed back down.We had dinner at a lovely restaurant recommended to us by the guy that sold us some postcards (it's probably owned by his cousin or something like that). We had a real swiss dish of fondue. It was really good. The weather during the day was cloudy and grey looking but very mild and in Lugano we even had thunder and lightning….very exciting.I really enjoyed the time we spent at Lugano and very glad we didn't do the optional dinner excursion as we wouldn't have had time to do all that we did.Oh, it's quite expensive here so no shopping although l did buy some swiss chocolate and a pair of earrings. We saw lots of expensive cars like Lamborghini's, Porsche's, Alfa Romeos and then there were the normal cars….BMW's, Audi's, Merc's, Peugot's and VW's.There were lots of motor scooters which were very popular in Italy too, as were the smart cars.
