Yesterday we did the south coast of Labrador. We started at red bay national historic site. We took a boat across to the island did a bit of a hike and read the sign boards as we went. We then went through the museum at our own pace. It was quite interesting reading and seeing what was clearly a huge whaling operation in the 15th century. Today, we went to the Port Au Choix national historic site. It was larger than the whole park around fort Amherst. The history surrounded ancient indigenous and slight less ancient Inuit, and hundreds of years ago french fishermen. The really excellent part of it was that we got very close to two wild caribou. Yesterday, we spent a second day in St Anthony. We started by going to the Grenfell Historical Society. Grenfell was a doctor, missionary, and sportsman with the Mission to the Deep Sea Fishers. So today was our first day on the Northern Tip of Newfoundland. We started the day with a boat tour. We saw an abandonded outport. Sevel icebergs... one that we found particularly large.
