The day at the Port: - We left for Penang today, getting a taxi to the port on Langkawi. Our ferry was at 2.30pm and so we went to KFC for lunch whilst we waited and took pictures of the huge eagle which is the main feature of the port! At 1.45 we headed to our gate, but were told we'd have to wait for our ferry...so we sat down. By 2.20 we were starting to get impatient so we headed to the desk again...we were told we still had ages to wait because the next ferry wasn't until 5pm - we explained we had tickets for the 2.30 one and they said it had left nearly and hour ago......we didn't realise that Malaysia is an hour ahead of Thailand and we were still on Thai time - d'oh! So we waited again until 5.30. - Finally we reached Penang at 8ish and booked into The Love Lane Inn, a lovely central guesthouse run by a bloke called Jimmy - who we decided looks like an asian Jimmy Saville - ha ha! We had a gorgeous Curry at the Tandoori House - loads of types of naan and rice - yum!
