We are on our way, at present in Buenos Aires, Argentina after a very good 15 hour flight, the upgrade to Premium Economy was well worth it. From the cold of UK we are now in 30 degrees beautiful sunshine. We have spent the 3 days looking at this lovely city and relaxing ready for our next adventure to Iguazu Falls which starts tomorrow morning (Monday 10th).
The Hotel is centrally located and apart from so called demostrations where the hotel street gets blocked off everything is fine. On our arrival we were unable to reach the hotel by car and had to walk the last block. The driver indicated the hotel as being next to the bomb disposal wagon. There is a new lady president being installed.
The city is cheap with regards to food and drink but the quality is good and everything is easily walked. We did take a taxi to the Recoleta cemetary of Eva Peron and this is hard to describe as it is full of mauseleums and the Eva Peron one is down a side lane and nowhere near the biggest. We had a coffee at a cafe near to the cemetary and sat in some shade. The waitor came with a tray loaded with items, we were the only ones sat outside, as well as coffee we got orange juice, water and cake each for the total cost of £2.50. During our walk round the city we saw street players doing the Argentine Tango, but the girls had holes in their fishnet tights which made them look tacky. However, late in the evening we came across a huge stage blocking off a street with an orchestra playing music where the public were on stage dancing the tango. The dance was much slower than on Strictly.
Will sign off now hope everyone is well, sorry to brag about the weather but it is fantastic to see this lovely sunshine.
