Sorry about previous update, yes we have free internet but the connection is terrible. Tony wrote 3 paragraphs for the blog only 6 words were sent and he has had trouble trying to upload photographs to this site, so to start again here we go.
After bragging about our weather Sunday and Monday nights we have had terrible thunder storms, in fact even on Tuesday morning when we started the Iguazu Falls tour on the Argentinian side everyone was dressed for rain. But by midday the sun was out and humidity and temperature were up in the 30´s. Fortunately all the barriers had been removed and the transport to the airport was able to get to the Hotel. We left two bags in Hotel storage for our trip to the Falls. The falls were truly magnificent and the noise unbelievable, it really showed the force and power of nature. After the tour to the Argentinian side which was via a train and a 15 minute walk across a river on a bridge network to reach the falls. We took an optional boat trip underneath the falls, Thea made use of a poncho and managed to stay almost dry, everyone else was truly drenched. You couldn´t see anything in the mist of the spray and the force was almost unbearable as you went under the fall.
Today we have done the Brazillian side which was more of a safari in the rain forest, although we did get some good views of the falls from across the other side of the river. Again a boat trip was included, this time Thea didn´t take it as getting wet once was enough for her, but needless to say Tony was a sucker for punishment and got drenched again.
We have had some really good meals here and even in the national park the price and quality were really good. Our hotel is not a hotel but individual lodges (ours is 3 bedroomed as we got an upgrade), set round a swimming pool. We have to walk up a steep hill and right down the other side to reach Puerta Iguazu where all the shops and restaurants are, it takes about 20 minutes. Not much in town but it is somewhere to go at night and again cheap food.
Hope everyone is well, tomorrow we are off travelling again to the south of Argentina and across into Chile, so will update again when we have access to the internet. Hopefully with a better connection.
