After organising the trip around Istanbul and Ephesus, we are finally to visit the Shrine of the House of Mary and the ruins of the port town of Ephesus, where the disciple John took Mary after the death of Jesus. Ephesus was important for the early church John, Peter and Paul visited this important city. The shrine is sanctioned by the Catholic Church. Is is also a very busy place, many pilgrams and all of the boat was here at the same time. Lit a candle and said a prayer for you all. It was peaceful and located in a very cool and shady area of Ephesus, unlike the ruins. More in the next blog.
