Wow, Sorry everyone! Its been a long time since I've updated this blog, and my apologies for that. We have done a lot of traveling in the last 2 weeks and for much of it have not had quality internet access, but now we have finally made it to Bali so I'll attempt to backtrack and fill in the missing parts.
So we left Malaysia and traveled by bus down the coast, where we then took a ferry across to Dumai City, Indonesia. From there we took another bus up to Medan, where we then took yet another bus to Bukit Lawang. Traveling in Indonesia is very different as it takes about 5x longer to go anywhere due to the crappy roads and tons of people.
In Bukit Lawang we did a jungle treck and saw some Orang-utans, did a few floats down some class 2 rapids on an inflatible tube, and relaxed and ate WAYYYY too much food for super cheap. After that we left and went back to Medan, and then on to Lake Toba, where the views are amazing and relaxing is the way of life. Here we hung out for 4 days, however we were only going to stay for 2 but due to flights and travel we had to stay longer. We rented a motorcycle one day and went for a 100km cruise, another day we rented bicycles and rode around, another day we rented tubes and floated on the lake, and throughout it all we explored the shops and the city, spoke with locals about Indonesia, and had overall a pretty epic time.
After Lake Toba we flew from Medan to Surabaya, which is located in Java. But I'll save that for the next post, so as to not make this one too long.
