ESPERANCE
Driving into Esperance the rain was around as forecast. We got a great possition at the Seafront CVP. We were right across from the beach at the front, instead of being banished to the back of the CVP like often big rigs do here we had prime position. Lucky for us the weather stayed off the coast making the colours of the beaches and ocean even better on our drive along the coast in the ute.
We got a phone call from Nick Gatenby a farming friend from Tas who now lives in Esperance inviting us to go for dinner. We had a lovely evening with the children playing and meeting Nick's wife Georgia and children Harry (4) and Ellie (2). Thank you.
Sunday we had a slow morning but then at 10am we had the Gatenby Family around for a coffee, with great excitement as we don't often have friends visit for coffee. The bus feeling a little crowded after coffe we went for a play at the CVP playground to burn some energy.
After lunch we headed out to Cape Le Grand National Park. Wow what a beautiful place, the granite rocks reminding us of parts of Tas but with its own rugged beauty. Baigal, the kids and Fidge walked up Frenchmans Peak which gave amazing views especially through the cave tunnel. A 2 hour steep walk completed in 1 hour to meet Tim back in the car park who had been off to Lucky Bay (hoping to get lucky).
Takeaway Indian was the consensus for dinner- good choice.
Monday involved a run, bike ride or walk along the foreshore and jetty, pack up a move towards Albany to see how far we got. An interesting tree posted on the way was a dead tree with T's cut out of its branches. A Tee tree!!!!
We parked our home in a off road gravel park aprox 10km out of Albany, a cold night and us all waking and wearing wool jumpers and track pants- bit of a shock to the system!
