A much needed great nights sleep in our terrific ultra modern hotel in Jung Ju ... near Incheon. Quite eerie wandering around the quiet streets on a Sunday morning.... no doubt very different on a business day. Evidently this area has only developed in last few years - plenty of high rise apartments and railway station right near our hotel.
Enjoyed some time in the fitness centre before our buffet breakfast... knowing we had much time ahead sitting again today!
By 11am we were on our bus for the quick trip back to Incheon. Check in was pre done in Sydney and immigration and customs were a breeze! Such an awesome state of the art airport! Unreal!
Plenty of time to wander .... and coffee!
With the differing seat configuration of
the A380 we sat in the centre seats with an aisle, still with plenty of leg room. More movies, reading and food during the 12 hour flight to Paris! Cloudy early evening arrival - with an incredibly long taxi run to the terminal. Charles de Gaulle obviously a massive airport (long time between visits for me!)
Accrued plenty of steps traipsing through Immigration and baggage claim. Once out from Terminal 2E spotted an Information desk. They had a phone set up to contact shuttle operators so the process was easy to advise we had arrived. By this stage we were exhausted as our body clocks were telling us it was about 3am... and the shuttle ride into Paris dropping off four other passengers and battling the crazy traffic was tedious.
But, we are in Paris! Once we came closer to the city, away from the maze of motorways and the not so appealing outskirt areas, the tree-lined avenues and familiar Parisian architecture appeared. Cafes, bars, amazing buildings - so much to take in. Finally we arrived at our little hotel in Montparnasse. Little is the operative word... our room is very small but adequate and clean. We headed out to a nearby bar for a glass of vino and some frommage ... just to soak in the atmosphere. But at 11pm our bodies were thinking it was 6am.... so it was back for much needed sleep for us!
