Hey all, Wow thanks again for the absolutely great postcards, I can't tell you how nice it is to hear from you all! And don't worry I am working on the pics. On Koh Samet at the mo which is an island 4 hours away from Bangkok and absolutely beautiful. It's pretty small and quiet, jsut a dirt track that goes around the whole island! Also full of backpackers which is great! The four of us (Max, Paul, James and I) arrived here in the afternoon after a fairly long and hot mini bus journey and a short boat ride. Found hotel that we think charlie (tour leader) had recommended and tis really nice although basic. Rooms consist of bungalows wiht just a fan, a bed and a mosquito net. Shared bathrooms although they are actually pretty decent and a great bar, living area with free dvds to watch in the evenings. It's right across the road from a superb beach and some great bars. So basically just been relaxing on the beach and having an explore of the island. Yesterday it was quite overcast so we all walked along the main strip, max and I got henna tattoos on the bottom of our backs which look great (!) (don't worry parents, it comes off in 2 weeks)and last night we all went to a bbq restaurant all fairy lit on the beach which was great, food was superb and so cheap again! Pretty tired so we headed to bed early-ish for us anyway! Today have been lazing on the beach luckily after being woken up by a tremendous thunder storm this morning and have got sunburnt in very odd places! It's our last night all together, sniff sniff, so no doubt it will be a big one, especially as the bar across the road does 'toss the boss' - basically you order your drinks then they toss a coin and if you guess it right then you get your drink free! Tomorrow Paul, James and I are off back to Bangkok and Max is staying here by herself for a few more days. Then James is off home in the evening and Paul and I are getting an overnight train to Chang Mai where we'll be for a few days before we head off to the Elephant conservation to volunteer for a week - looking forward to it loads!
