Kate and I travelled up to Byron Bay again to meet up with Phelpsy and Finn for a few days after they had been on their surfing week. The first day was spent swimming in the sea and lounging on the beach along with the great kebabs from bay kebabs! On the second day we went to the beach again but as the sea was breaking onto the beach there were hundreds and hundreds of jellyfish! Most of them were tiny and pretty harmless, but i did spot a couple of small portugeuse men-o-war which i did that biology paper on, so i knew that i should stay as far away from those ones as possible! Still, stupidly i went body boarding in the sea anyway with finn and phelpsy attempting his surfing. I felt like i was stinging all over... think finn had some minor stings aswell as me, but there was only one that was visible on my stomach... saw a couple of potugeuse man-o-wars bobbing around near me whilst i was in the sea so decided to get out after i saw them because their tenticles are huge! On the third day (christmas eve) it was storming all day and so we spent most of the afternoon playing card games in the hostel with a few of the people that phelpsy and finn had met on their surf camp whom i had come to get along well with. I have a few pictures of all of us, but amogst them were a couple of german girls, a norwegian girl, a couple of german guys (who were hilarious) an australian and a few irish! That night we went out to a place called Cocomangas which is a bar in the town centre and celebrated christmas day at midnight amongst lots of other travellers which was really good fun! We left the next day to go back to melbourne and Finn, Phelpsy and I spent christmas lunch with Gittoes and his family which was great! They made us feel really welcome, and his brother's girlfriend is really sweet. The other english joined us later on, Suzi and Slug at about 6p.m and cookie, justin and edd later on at about 8p.m. Anyway, christmas was a success in the end!
