Nipped to Tynemouth after breakfast (consisting of a bacon bun and fresh orange and 2 cups of tea) ok I'll bit bore you with those details again After walking Jack along the coast, we visited Tynemouth castle and got chatted to Sally who told me a story of how often Tobson Green passed by in between filming the Northumberland series. Also pointing out a lovely house now up for sale. Used in an old film that I forget the name of already. Before my time On up the coast brought me to Walkworth and such a lovely friendly place, very pretty walk alongside Walkworth castle and the river... Championed by Robson green again. I could see why..
My Bsmbi was a hit with locals! cath and Eddie with there dog rufus are going to look for one.
Along the beautiful Northumberland coast brought me to Craster, where on advise from A friend and in smelling smoked fish I bought some smoked salmon pâté, which I had a sandwich of for tea later.... Lovely! dunstanburgh castle there was a stunning walk away.
But my highlight of the day was without doubt Alnwick castle, Hogwarts, missed my broomstick lessons though. The stately rooms were grand and magnificent, used in Downton abbey. The chapel with the 7 enormous 17th century tapestries were amazing as was the masses of porcelain on display. Dating back to the 15th century to 18th Meissen etc.
But the main think about Alnwick to me was the shear size of the place! So much to see, so grand and such lovely ceilings and the paintings! Wow!
Onto seahouses next and a wander around the harbour... Pity I can't to the Farne island cruise as I can't take Jack.
Still, holy island tomorrow!!!! Woo Hoo. Tonight I stopes at Banburgh castle, another magnificent castle holding a play, the 12th night shortly.... Staying just up the coast tonight from there, another view of the sea and fields and sheep this time.
