IM IN SINGAPORE!!!
So I have an address, a map and a rucksack. This should be easy for a pro traveller like myself.. Well it actually was! For the first time ever I got myself down to the metro station, bought a ticket in the right direction and set off. It sounds silly but it really is quite a proud moment when you do get the the next place on your own, when you work out the trains and where you are, where you are heading etc and actually doing it with no dramas! It definitely gives you a confidence boost anyway!
I didn't really have any plans for my time in Singapore.. I'd done a bit of trip advisor research and apart from the Helix Bridge and Marina Bay they wasn't much that wasn't completely touristy.. like legoland for example!
So I put down the bag and went for a stroll! Singapore is really easy to get around as it's all in blocks so you know at some point you will make it back.. Well unless you are a complete numpty..?! It's so clean as well! Walking around it looks like a showhome, it's just not a house, it's a country and it's huge!
I found my way to the bay and walked along the Helix Bridge.. The meaning of Helix is the metal twisting! You will need to see the pictures to understand but it was still very cool to see!
Attached to this bridge is a shopping centre about twice the size of Bluewater! So I take a stroll in thinking I might be able to get myself a few little bargains.. HA. This place wasn't for a backpacker, or even a flashpacker.. There was Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Burberry.. Everything that you needed a mortgage for so my daily budget of £30 wasn't going to quite cut it!
Clearly I didn't spend to long there, mainly because half the shops wouldn't have let me in looking like I did! So I left, got some dinner.. well use that term loosely - I mean I got a McDonalds then headed back, in a block formation, for an early night. This early night resulted in me waking up at 4am. Could this be jetlag?
