At last, the beach beckoned.....we drove from Roma intent on finding the beach, we drove towards the Adriatic coastline and drove up the coast road until we found a hotel we liked the look of, the hotel was great, clean, tidy, good size room with lovely views of the beach. One problem the train line ran immediately behind us, luckily that stopped in the evening, spent two days here enjoying the sun, sand and local beer..

Well made it to Roma! so far driving in Italy has been fun.... We've only got lost a couple of times and not managed to drift over to the other side of the road. What an unbelievable place, its amazing how much they let you touch and walk on, you really feel as if you've gone back in time. Unfortunately we had the most rain ever so got to see pompeii on a bad day (mustn't grumble though cos this has only been our 2nd rainy day) at one time we had such thunder I thought Vesuvius was up to her old tricks......but all in all it was a good day hope you enjoy the pics.

Arrived in Sorrento to find out we were staying in an ex-convent......well almost, it took us a while to find this hostel which was a long way up a mountain on the side of Sorrento. The place was clean and our room was huge but other than that didnt have a lot going for it, we met some really nice people though which you always seem to do in hostels.
