Arrived in Florence, drove straight to the hills above and miraculously found a fab hotel called Villa Fiesole, the most amazing views over Florence which I actually found quite dull..... I know, I know, maybe even I have been cultured to death! poor maggie.... dragged her around a great ex-convent with some great Frescoes by a guy called Fra Bartollini, not sure about those nuns they seem a bit strange to me! Arrived in Pisa after a fairly stressful drive from Perugia, went into Siena on our way which was beautiful though not much different from Perugia, you can really get swamped here, it seems that every town has so much culture, art, architecture and food to explore there doesnt seem enough time. We tried to leave our beach resort, Maggie decided to resist completely by throwing herself down the stairs of our hotel in protest!!!! At last, the beach beckoned.....we drove from Roma intent on finding the beach, we drove towards the Adriatic coastline and drove up the coast road until we found a hotel we liked the look of, the hotel was great, clean, tidy, good size room with lovely views of the beach. One problem the train line ran immediately behind us, luckily that stopped in the evening, spent two days here enjoying the sun, sand and local beer..

Well made it to Roma! so far driving in Italy has been fun.... We've only got lost a couple of times and not managed to drift over to the other side of the road.
