Welcome to Hoi An tailoring capital of the world. This small town with three main streets has more tailors per square mile than any other type of shop and everyones family has one. The only place I can imagine where the tailors is open later than the restaurants,
We had three nice days in Nha Trang, the second daya was a bit over cast but it was still flipping hot. Monsoon season in Nha Trang seems to mean brilliant sunshine til 3pm then a light drizzle all evening. We spent two days on the loungers and I put on factor thirty, stayed under the brolley for most of it and kept my shirt on the second day and still managed to burn my stomach! Its that hot!
The third day we decided to the take a bike to the po nagar cham towers (about 3km north of the town) its was a nice cycle along the sea front and was surprisingly quite compared to the town. On the way back we thought we stop at the white buddha on the hill where Claire got accosted by two guys trying to sell post cards. They demanded she must buy, and when they found out she had no money (I have it) they got even more shirty. Luckily by the time we got back they had moved on or I'm sure Claire would have decked them if they had tried again.
That night we got on another night bus - I love these - if you come to Vietnam they are the only way to travel! So after another cramped, bumpy night we rolled up in Hoi An. Where it has been raining for six days and they are expecting a typhoon to hit in three days. Nice.
Good news is though it is wet it is also warm. We spent the first day window shopping and wandering around town. I accidentally slipped and bought a suit, 2 shirts, a pair of shoes, Claire a dress, coat and shorts - all tailor made mind you and costing 300quid. I felt ill today.
Today we went to visit My Son (pronounced Me Sun is it that hard to spell it right?) Another set of cham towers pretty much destroyed by the americans in the 70s. Nice area and pretty much a wilderness but today very damp. We were hoping to go there by boat but as the river is flooded we were told we couldn't.
Anyway must go got to go to a fitting. See you later

Mum R My word Chris. I do hope it doesn't take you too long to recover!! I just viewed the map. You've travelled quite a distance already. I'm sorry you had trouble with the postcard people. They can be a pain. Must have been a bit worrying but I'm sure Claire dealt with them well...x Where next?
Steve Taylor Strangely I almost feel at home where you are! I hope the local tailors have the same quality sense of humour x
Dad P I sense another clothing parcel will soon be coming in our direction!!!
