Thanks to everyone for the messages. We know we got off quite likely, Claire would like to thank my Dad for instilling me with his paranoia.

Here's a few examples of my quirks;

I have a money belt.

All of our valuables are spread between two small bags. One is kept with us the other in the safe in the hotel/hostel we are staying in.

All of our clothes are split 50:50 between our two big rucsacs so if one goes missing we both still have clothes.

When getting on a bus I like to sit on the side my bag goes in.

I like to be the first off a bus.

When using the internet from a hotel computer I always delete the history, cookies and temporary files after I use it (especially when checking my banking)

I do not take money out of my bank account only my credit card - my bank account is only used to pay off my credit card - never any other transactions.

I never log on from the same computer to my internet banking twice.

When carrying my small rucsac I always wear both shoulder straps, the chest strap and if in "dodgy areas" the waist strap too. If really dodgy all of the above and I wear it backwards (even i can't take it off then)

The small bag has a ring pull through both zips so you cannot open it easily.

When eating at a cafe/restaurant the shoulder straps for the small bag are looped under a chair or table leg.

If eating/sleeping in a park the straps go round my leg.
