Hi Guys,
Still in Melbourne at the mo - once again using McDonalds Wifi (this time trying not to buy anything and hope I finish before being chucked out).
Yesterday we went into the city once again and found a small aboriginal museum. It was really interesting to find out how little people know about australia's former inhabitants - mainly due to how aggressively they were dealt with. They didn't even have full equal rights until the 70s. Amazingly when the settlers arrived most of the aboriginals were pretty accomodating towards the invaders even when they started losing land and being killed en mass for trying to defend their property.
From there we wandered up to the library. A great experience as they had a whole room full of computer games machines (I'm seeing a pattern in Melbourne) so while Claire checked her facebook I played on the ps3.
Next we walked up to the exhibiton centre where they had an american muscle car exhibtion on. We sat outside and watched some really well loved vehicles parade pass. I'm sure the petrol heads among you would have been in heaven. As far as Claire I got was that they looked pretty fancy.
Finally we got the circle tram around the city and stopped at the cinema to see Hugo.
Today we went to St Kilda - the massive beach in Melbourne - it was soo hot and once again Claire did not use enough suntan lotion so is looking a bit red. I had to keep finding shade - I have never been so hot that the base of my feet felt like they were on fire without walking on the hot sand.
Anyway last day in Oz tomorrow - so our next blog will either be from the airport on NZ.
Excited
Mr P
