First things first, so far the picture isn't a cause for concern. As you can see Claire is smiling, but yes she is in hospital.
Well Singapore has been a mixed bag.
Our first day we wandered around the colonial areas. Some nice old buildings mixed with some huge sky scrappers. Claire was feeling a bit rotten so we broke the day up with a sit down while watching mission impossible 4 at the cinema. That evening we went to the singapore art gallery (its free after 6pm on a Friday). There was some fantastic work - we especially liked the potraits painted onto steel.
The next morning Claire woke up feeling bad and sent me out to buy some new sandels - I have literally walked through mine now. You can actually see light right through them. I got back just after lunch and Claire decided to brave the day slowly. We went out to visit haw par villa. An eastern Black Gang Chine (Isle of Wight), very weird. It was built in the thirties by a pair of rich businessmen who wanted to give something back to the community and teach children about morals and hindu (I think) religious stories. What they created is a sort of cross between childs play the labarinth.
By the end of our tour (which took about two hours) Claire was proper shaky and I helped her back to the hostel via a phamacist. She didn't fancy any food so I finished off our last pack of instant noodles and we crashed in our room.
The next morning she still felt rotten so we went to the doctors and he gave her some different medicine and told her to rest (I think she was quite happy to by now). She slept most of the day while I went off to explore the harbour area of the city before being forced to give up by the torrential rain. When I got back she was still feeling pretty rotten but we hoped she would feel better the next day.
The next morning came (today) and her fever had gone down but her stomach still hurt bad, so we went back to the doctor and he sent us to the hospital. Where we have been all day - its a very nice hospital. Claire has had blood tests and x rays and god knows what else. Finally about 4pm they said that she should stay in over night as they don't think she has appendicitis but her servere pains still need monitoring.
So she is still in the hospital and we will have to see tomorrow if we will be leaving Singapore on Schedule.
