Hello everybody, we got up yesterday and went out to buy our train tickets to Guilin - Trains in china are very overbooked and we have found that the date we can acctually get a ticket determines when we move from place to place. So we are on another sleeper train on the 2nd.
Then we caught the bus into the centre of town to look at the fountains and go to the peoples park. The park was very beautifull - I fed the coi carp there were loads of them! It was ridiculously hot though so we sought shelter in a shopping center for lunch.
Unfortunately about an hour after lunch I started to feel very unwell - not cool. So we caught the bus back to the hostel, chris watched a movie while I kept the toilet seat warm . . . This morning chris went to the local pharmacy for me - I now have some unusual herbal tablets to take - on a plus side I am feeling a bit better.
We decided to go and see something local to us so we weren't far away from the hostel - till we both feel a bit better. So we walked to the Wen Shu Temple monestary, it was a bit different to some of the temples we have seen so far, lots more dark wood and goldy bits and the roofs were a completely different shape. They also had a turtle pool so I was happy.
On the way home we walked round the small local crafts and food district. Now back at the hostel waiting till a bit later when we will be going to the Sichuan Opera - there is supposed to be 'face changing' and fire eating so that should be fun.
Tommorow Pandas!
(On his walk thismorning chris tried a 'pea lolly' which was basically a pureed pea center and green ice lolly round the outside - he said it was 'unusual')

Steve Taylor You will enjoy the pandas. They are very matter of fact creatures...everything is black and white to them......
