After just 3 hours sleep we were up ready to head to Isla Damas for our boat trip to the penguin reserve. We boarded our boat which took us to the first island. We could disembark here but were guided around the edge of the island looking at the different birds, sea lions, sea otters and best of all penguins! There were a lot more here than we had seen in the Galapagos which was exciting.
We were then headed for the second island, on the way we ran into a massive group of dolphins which spent ages swimming all around our boat. This was really cool and we had been told there was probably about a 60% chance we would see some so we were really pleased!
We then disembarked at Isla Damas which is a beautiful island. We walked around and took in all the scenery, I'm sure on a hotter day it would have been amazing to swim from the beach but neither Browny and I were brave enough today. Some people were attempting it in wet suits though!
After a wander round we headed back to the mainland and were taken to a nice restaurant where we were given a late lunch/dinner. Back to La Serena and a quick trip to the bus station for our ticket to Santiago and a short wander round the mall before getting into bed for a much needed sleep!
