Caught the early train to Rome this morning, watching Tuscany roll by with its fields mainly being baled, then stored our luggage at the station so we could revisit this beautiful city. The last time we were married here, but no new shock surprise!
Caught a taxi down to the Pantheon. Such a beautiful building. Not too packed, though we had forgotten the queues in Rome. Walked to the Trevi Fountain, which is always busy. Threw a coin in and said a prayer. Apparently they get $30,000 each day, which is donated to charity. Funny how people will throw in $5 or so, but don't often donate when asked. We had yummy gelato here.
Walked to the Spanish Steps, which was heavily guarded nearby by police & soldiers with massive machine guns. Caught a taxi back to Roma Termini, only to get lost in the massive complex!! Finally found our particular depot & caught the train to the airport.
Smooth & safe flight with Agean & was picked up by a taxi for our hotel. Lovely room overlooking the pool with a massive bed, checked in then went to the bar with the most amazing view of the Acropolis!! Incredible!! Yasso, welcome to Greece
