We had a pretty rough night last night as Mira developed a fever and was up for most of the night. We got up early with plans to head to Bullhead City, and figured we would take it easy since Mira was not feeling well.We pulled out of the Holiday Inn parking lot and saw the RV Park just down the road. Oh well, another $20 saved! We headed to the gas station to fuel up and found a problem with the tires. We ended up getting a couple of new tires and everything is good but we killed a good chunk of the day in Williams. We went out for breakfast at the Pine Country restaurant and it was pretty great. I am glad we went for breakfast as you are not supposed to eat pie for breakfast (right mom?) and they had at least 600 different types of homemade pies made fresh daily. It might not have been that many but it was a lot. We thought about getting pie-to-go but common sense prevailed. After getting the tire situation fixed we hit the road and headed further west. We decided there was no real reason to go to Bullhead city and continued on to the Hoover Dam. There was quite a delay at the Dam as security has been very tight since 9/11. You have to go through a security check point and RV's are searched to ensure they are not loaded with bombs or weapons of mass destruction or homemade pies. The Dam itself is pretty spectacular but again, not quite what you see on TV. Most of what we saw, I have never seen one time before in my life. We ended up finding an RV park just past the Dam on Lake Mead and it is gorgeous. We got all hooked up, cooked some sausages on the bar-b-q, lit a campfire and ate under the stars. Our camp host was a tour guide for 9 years with 5 of them in Vegas so he was a wealth of information. We have some great insight into the best way to do Vegas. Our plan is to go back to the Dam for a tour in the morning. After the Dam tour, and once we have taken enough Dam pictures and have all of our Dam questions answered, we are off to Vegas! If Mira is not feeling well we will just lay low here at the Damn Lake. She has not had a fever since around noon but seemed to be heating up a little before bed. She is still her amazing self and laughed, smiled and played all day.

Mom It's okay to have pie for breakfast when you are that close to the the Hoover Dam because then it becomes Dam pie and that puts a whole new flavor on it and that changes the rules.
