well we left uluru and headad for coober pedy the only underground town in australia. The reason they live underground is because it gets so hot in the outback that it's cooler to live underground. It took about 7 hours on the small bus to get to coober pedy we did stop on the way but i can't really remember where as i slept most fo the way. We did cross yet another boarder the north to south australian boarder and the clocks changed by half an hour which was wierd, never mind it meant we were closer to adelaide. We got to coober pedy in the evening and had a tour of the very small town it took about 45 minute, we visited an underground church and then an opal museum. It was interesting as we got to know about the different types of opal and how people use to mine for them. most of the old mines are now people's homes and we also got to see a home. We stayed in an underground hostel which was nice, clean and warm it just didn't have any windows but after a few drinks at the underground hotel bar it really didn't matter.
After coober pedy we headed south to flinders ranges. We stopped in port augusta on the way for fuel and food and then back on the road. Again we arrived in the evening and got to see sunset i decided to help with dinner as i'd seen either sunsets and you had to walk up a hill to view it, no thanks. We also stopped at a salt lake on the way down which was once used to test mines and there are still some there possibly active. (See the photos). We saw lots of wildlife whilst driving though flinders ranges emu's and kangaroos mainly. Some of the boys tried to catch one of the emu but they just kept running off. We did another hill walk in the flinders range i decided to do the short walk and went for coffee with some of the group and got to know them a little better which was nice.
We headed to adelaide after the flindrs ranges, on the way there was a lot of nothing to see being in the outback you get use to not seeing much at all. Then we got to adelaide a small city but it was nice to see people buildings and cars. Sad i know but i was good to see that there was life out there. The group all went for dinner when we got to adelaide at a local bar which was nice, we all went for a couple of drinks after. The next day i had a nice lay in after getting up at 6am most mornings in the outback. We for breakfast with the girls and spent the afternoon doing washing and catching up on emails. Adelaide was a really quite city and i don't think i will visit again unless i go to kangaroo island as the weather was really bad we didn't get to go this time around.
