Hello all
Currently we are sitting in an internet place in the Copenhagen train station. It has been about 5degrees today and yesterday. Last night we went for a walk after dinner to see the christmas markets and it was 4degrees and when we got there they had closed! So its been pretty much freezing here and we're hoping that it might be a bit warmer when we get to Germany later tonight.
Checking out this morning from our hostel was complete and utter chaos. Check out time was 9am which we thought was ridiculous but what was even worse was that half of the building seemed to all be checking out today. We had to wait ages for a lift as every life that stopped at our level (14) was already full! When we finally got down to the reception that was full of people and luggage. It was crazy. They make you check out at 9 but wont hold your luggage for you so we found lockers here at the trainstation for the day.
Yesterday we went to the Carlsburg museum which Darren was hanging out for and pretty much couldnt walk out straight of later. You basically walk through the museum and learn about the history etc then you finally end up in the bar where you get some free beer. Needless to say, Tash wasn't drinking her beer so Darren reaped the rewards and walked out a bit worse for wear. The local beer is around 7.5% acl so according to Darren it doesnt take long to start feeling the effects. After that Tash steered Darren back to the supermarket to find some food that we could afford for dinner and then we went on to an old english pub to watch Aresnal v Portsmouth. Unfortunately, there it cost us 20AUD for a pint and a vodka!
We never though we'd say this but we're actually looking forward to getting back to the euro!
We decided that we would be smart with our money here and have stuck to spending about 100AUD per day as we aren't getting much value for money.
No more sharing rooms for us now - thank god. The couple that were in our room last night got in at about 3am and the guy snored all night. Darren had to refrain Tash from throwing her pillow at him!
Steph - just so you know everywhere we've been has a green and red man - no red hands so far.
Ok well off to the airport now...
Speak to you from Berlin (where we are staying in a 4star hotel yay)
Bye!

Hi guys. I've just removed Copenhagen from my list of places (that I can afford) to visit! We love reading your posts. How cold is it? Natasha, you must be feeling the cold - you struggle in our house during an Adelaide winter! Anne Frank's house would have been quite an experience, when you think how many people hid in there in fear of their lives. Nothing unusual here at home, it's been a normal week. The weather has been cooler thank goodness. We're about to head off to basketball, playing Norwood. Love you. Have a great time.

Hi again,
Writing from our hostel in Copenhagen which is fairly interesting. Much nicer than the one we stayed in in Amsterdam. I think they decked the whole place here out with stuff from ikea.
We cant get the damn journal thing to work so until I can we'll keep posting on here. Sorry.
Landed in Copenhagen today and it is COLD and WET and miserable - and night time at 3pm here rather that the 4pm we got used to in Amsterdam! We have quickly worked our (much to our disgust) that Copenhagen is a VERY expensive city. There is an old guy sharing our room and he says it is 300euro for a hotel room here. Damn. This internet session, whole hour of it is costing us 10AUD compared to Amsterdam where it cost us 2euros for an hour. We went to the supermarket to buy some 'cheap' dinner and reckon we bought from the harrods of supermarkets it was so expensive. So much for a cheap dinner. But honestly a steak in a cafe here was 70AUD. 70AUD! Who would pay that!? We tried to change flights and get an earlier one to Berlin on the 17th so that we don't go broke but there isn't one. So dad i could be wiring home for some money soon! So yes this will be the only update for a while (until Berlin and commonsense prices avail). I just dont know who pays these prices - it's cheaper to do things in London!
Anyway, time for bed now (its only 9:10 but its been dark for hours so we feel like we're long past bed time!). We just did our washing (yay) and that seems to have gone ok... Oh yeh and so far Darren has thought we've had Jose Mourinho on our flight to Amsterdam and Shaun Micalef on our flight to Copenhagen (only he thought his name was Simon Mitchell) ?
Love you, thanks for your posts, we love hearing from home!
Mwa xx

Hi all,
Quick update - went to Anne Frank's house today. Was quite unsettling actually. It is very interesting and they have kept it in good condtion and still have alot of original stuff such as correspondence and even her original diary. The steps going up (there are a few staircases) are soooo steep. I actually knocked my knee on a step above the one i was on as i was climbing.
We walked around the city some more and saw some parts we hadn't seen. Went to part of the red light district last night. Walked past about 2 windows before we left as Tashi didnt like it. Tonight we are going to Leidesplein for dinner and tomorrow we fly to copenhagen. Weather hasn't been too cold so far, although we have been in pants, tops, jumpers and jackets plus scarf and gloves the whole time!
Love you all x
