Hello everybody,
Thankyou for your messages. It doesn't really feel close to christmas for us because we're not home!We are very sorry to hear about Tetka Sandy's place.
The other day we took a walking tour of Berlin with a guide. It cost 21euro but was well worth the money. It went for about 4 hours and took in all the important sights of Berlin. We saw Checkpoint Charlie, Hitler's bunker, a section of the Berlin wall, the Brandenburg gate and the reichstien (?) (the german parliment building which burnt down and gave Hitler emergency power and hence the start of the war. Our tour guide was canadian but had lived in berlin for 7years and knew everything. Mum you would have thought he was a bit autistic the way he knew all the dates and times etc. It was really interesting. Darren caught half of it on his video camera. Tash was embarrassed as Darren was blatenly filming the guide, becoming more and more brazen about it as the tour went on. That was our last full day in Berlin. We went to a nice italian restaurant for dinner. Mum and dad you would like berlin, lots to see and lots of nice cafes etc. A bit like melbourne.
Arrived in Munich back to hostel life. Our hostel isnt too bad here, its a private room so no more sharing with snorers.
Yesterday we went to Dachau concentration camp. Tash was a bit apprehensive about going but decided to go. We took another walking tour with a guide which was decidedly better than doing it alone if only for the fact that they organise all the transport for you. We had to catch a train and bus to get there. This tour guide was fantastic also, he knew everything (maybe even too much!) about all the tortures and deaths within the camp, as well as stories of survival. We walked through the gas chamber which was quite freaky. Apparently it was not used much in Dachau but they are not sure why. It is a huge place but hard to comprehend that there were so many people crammed in there at any one time. In 1944 something like 78,000 people were held there compared to about 3000 when it first opened in 1933. It was incredible the tiny bunkers that everyone was made to sleep in. After the tour (which ran an hour longer than it was supposed to) our tour guide took a few of us to a beer hall called augustine keller - apparently the best one in Munich. He stayed for dinner with us lol. It turned out that the tour company was his own and he was the only tour guide. We thought it was quite nice of him to take us there.
Anyway, today we are going shopping and to the christmas markets.
Love Natasha

Hi guys. It’s almost Christmas and it feels strange not having you around. I saw on the news last night that there have been flight cancellations at Heathrow due to bad weather. I hope that’s not going to affect you. Caught up with Sue, Graham, Casey and Brad on Wednesday night. Brad is now living in Perth. Casey has a permanent job in Pt Lincoln and it looks like she won’t be back for a couple of years. Sue and Graham have moved to Thebarton. Had Deda’s Slava on Tuesday night, so caught up with everyone there. Found out that Sandra and Rob were burgled on Monday, the second time in a week. They jimmied the back door and ripped the plasma tv off the wall (damaging the wall). The next door neighbour got the rego number but it turned out to be a stolen car. Odds are that the guys that did it were the same ones that burgled them the week earlier. The closer we get to Christmas the crazier things get in the city – people everywhere. How is it over in Europe? We hope you are enjoying yourselves. Our thoughts are with you both. Love Mum and Dad.

Hello from Berlin
Thanks everyone for the messages - Uncle Mitch you are a cracker! I'll look out for any Standom franchises here and let you know if i find one!
Graham, can you scan and email a copy to Darren's work email.
Steph you mentioned that you didn't last outside in the tent. At least its warm there though! I wouldn't want to be camping here!!
Today we went to the olympic stadium and venue for the 2006 world cup final. Darren was in his element. We had to take the U-Bahn which we've renamed the U-Tube lol and we think its hillarious. We almost didn't make it because of some railworks but the people here are fairly nice and realised we had no idea what we were doing! When everyone else got off to change lines, we sat there and if some nice guy hadn't signaled for us to get off i think we would have ended up going back the other way.
Our hotel is awesome! Tash doesn't want to leave. It has a sauna and a solarium! This morning we had buffet breakfast. 15euro each but we managed to get our money's worth lol. Darren had a bowl of cereal, egg and bacon, 2 waffles, 2 juices and 3 cups of coffee!
Tomorrow we are doing a 4 hour guided walk which takes in the main sights of berlin. Tom, i don't know if you are reading this but i feel like im in that faulty towers episode - "don't mention the war!"
Off to do some shopping now - Darren has realised that it actually is cold here and he might need a warmer jacket. We've gotten this far without an umbrella which is pretty funny as we've been rained on a fair bit. We were just too 'Jason' to buy one in Copenhagen. (Sorry Jas, but for those who don't know, it means tight)
Take care and keep posting - we love to hear stories from back home.

Hey Tushi and Dazza!
Well by the sounds of it Copenhagen sounds like one place im going to have to put on my list of places to visit when i am a billionaire! I promise that when i go i will take you both and shout you tea one night, even a steak! ;)
The weather sounds like you would be loving it Tash........lol. If it makes you feel anybetter i was really cold in our house the other night i had to put on a jumper!!!! i know our house cold....NEVER!!!
Disappointing you havent seen any red hands yet, they are a sight to see. Take a pic if you see one! Jackson being the mature boy he is managed to steal a green and red man for Trudy.
The girls and i tested out our camping skills the other night and put up our Falls tent, just for some practice before the big trip. After it was up Meg, Zara and I all moved in with our sleeping bags and pillows and needless to say i was on the move to my bed within an hour!! I'm gonna die when i actually have to sleep in it!
Well we are all missing you both and hope your having an awesome time. Love always your little sis and Grelli's girlfriend!

P.s. Did you work out what the dots on your legs are yet tush?
P.p.s. Just rang and organised your gym membership to be put on hold for a month. Now the only way they could do it was through direct debit from your account so they will be taking $11 out of your account tomorrow. Hope thats ok...
