Merry Christmas to all! It's finally time to start on my big adventure! Another early Christmas morning but not for gifts and big breakfast as usual but to fly from Newcastle to Brisbane. I think what has amazed me most is that there is wifi on the train from domestic to international! oh how quick technology progressed!

Traveling to Rome today but a big day planned with over 40 hours of traveling in the next few to days! It's nice to be here with my mum who flew up to brissie with me, but I will miss my whole family a heap.. As I went through departures/customs she began to cry - which made me cry and feel a bit nervous! I am just gonna be exploring alone and will hopefully out of this whole experience gain a confidence by learning to have some more independence!

Now the long flight over - I was immediately impressed with Thai airways and their movie and audio preferences! There are a heap (which I guess you need if you are traveling on 2 massive flights)!

The food was enjoyable also but my appetite had totally left me as I had no breakfast, practically a lunch at 1pm at the airport and lunch at 4pm on the flight (which I thought must have been dinner) but at 9pm AUS time another meal came out and i was just stuffed - oh and i snacked on quite a few lollies ha!

Ive already learnt some travelling tips!
- I've learnt that online check-in is a MUST - our line was soooo quick!
- to not eat right before a flight cause they will probably feed you and
- if you've planned out when your gonna sleep and your plans of sleeping on the flight, they will change! I told myself I wouldn't sleep on the first leg.. I did!
