Hello,
Looking over by blogs briefly i cant help but notice i think i may actually have gone OTT on the word Amazing! but hey when you see the places iv seen, you would!
So we left Ko Samui on monday, planned to leave sunday but after a killer hang-over we had to stay another day there! We couldn't decide whether to do more Thai islands then singapore or go down to Malaysia then singapore- so being the adults we are we flipped a coin for it ha. Heads = Thai Islands.... so here we are in Kho Phi Phi :-)
It was a loooong day travelling down starting 6am getting in at 6pm....bus - coach- ferry- bus- bus- ferry and vola! we arrive!! The town is sooo small! They have no roads at all, the beaches are just amaz....Incredible!!! the scenery is just wow! (this is where the film 'The beach' was filmed) On the ferry we bumped into Sam and Emma after saying our goodbyes in Ko Samui for a second time! We also met the girls and Elaine and Larry as they happened to be on the same island- see it pays not to plan too much!
So on arrival in Phi Phi we were so tired and hot (now wev left the tour no one is there to carry our backpacks for us. hard times!) so we stayed in the first affordable guest house ...it was an absolute s*** hole! There was no toilette seat, the walls were eurgh!, the ceiling sounded like it was going to cave in every time someone walked upstairs, the sink had no pipe so you could clean your teeth and bath in your toothpaste water at the same time, there were broken window panels, being close to the beach it was like having a nightclub in our room with the sound...but the beds surprisingly were clean so armed with my ear plugs we stayed put. Oh the joys of travelling :-)
The next day we booked into a much nicer guest house, went out with a group on a tour and had a fab day! We snorkelled, sunbathed, had lunch in the national park, went to the monkey bay, went to the actual beach where 'the beach' was filmed, met some cool people, swam in the bluest of the seas, watched the sunset in the middle of the Andaman sea then back to Phi Phi.
In the evening we had dinner with an american woman we met from the boat tour then we met sam, emma, larry and elaine- Got our free buckets and watched a mind blowing fire show, skipping over fire ropes, one guy was doing sit ups OVER the fire rope, a rather low limbo under the fire ropes.....people from the crowd could just go and do it and the more everyone got drunk the more they done it and the more they fell over!- was amusing thehehehe! The actual guys that run it were just drinking neat vodka from the bottle, drinking shots, buckets and they still done a fantastic show. Everyone was just clubbing on the beach then it rained, when it rains here it r-a-i-n-s!!! But it was past 1am so felt we had done our due lol
Today we have just beached it, well kind of beached it, its just sooooooooo hot so i gave it maybe 3 hours! So we went over to the Tsunami memorial park, it was so sad reading some of the poems. Phi Phi badly affected by the disaster.
So our plan is now to leave Phi Phi on thursday and go straight down to singapore and be there for friday, we plan to meet Elaine and larry on the friday and meet charlotte on sat (i miss charmonk!!) then fly home on sunday!
What a fantastic adventure wev had! (not over yet!!) Although due to the heat and so much travelling I wont be coming back as tanned as hoped.....and due to the amazing Thai food, the street pancake stools, the to die for banana shakes, and my cravings for chocolate and the alcohol by the buckets it looks like i wont be coming back as skinny as anticipated either! ha Just goes to show iv enjoyed myself and not worried! wouldn't change a thing!!!!!!
Il blog when we are in singapore
Lots of love!
