Bolivia is the most amazing and beautiful country ive ever been to. I absolutely love it here.....The locals are such interesting people. The women in the bowler hats are known as chollas as apparently are so poor they cant afford loo roll and therefore use their skirts!! After leaving the lads and Tupiza we joined a 4 day tour around Uyuni. Bolivia as a country is either desert or jungle but the desert isnt like anything you would usually imagine. It is very colourful and mountainous and is constantly changing as you drive through it. The tour of uyuni was absolutely amazing. You are driven by jeep around the saltflats which are really tranquil, colourful, peaceful and calm with lots of flamengos, birds and llamas to look at. You also see numerous lagoons including one with red water!!, hot springs and live volcanos!! It was absolutely freezing at night though....minus 10 degrees on the first day so obviously i slept in all my clothes...and there were no showers at any of the lodgings during the tour so we didnt shower for 4 days...nice!!
