Arriving into Malaysia was like landing in a jungle. A sea of palm trees stood tall below us. It seemed untouched.
The boarder control took a while. It wasn't quite as bad as Singapore as we have started to learn the trick to being quicker... choose an outside lane! For some reason they have seemed to have more security.
Stepping onto Malaysian grounds in Kuala Lumpur was pleasantly surprising. Food courts and shops lined the airport arrivals building. Since we had been up since 3.30am, due to the very early flight from Bali, we decided to take a quick pit stop and have some food at their food hall. Locals and tourists lined the court and there was plenty to choose from. We then decided to take a slightly cheeper option to get into town as we weren't in an rush, so we took a bus for an hour and then then train for 10 minutes (only 15 minutes more than a taxi). The bus was probably the plushest bus we had ever been on! I would definitely recommend this way to others.
For this stopover, we decided to rent out an airbnb. When we arrived at our destination we were greeted by our host. It was a 33 floor apartment with a pool and a gym looking our to the Petronas Towers.
We freshened up and then decided to discover the 'fakes' at the markets in China town. We felt like being active and the walk only took 25 minutes. Once we got there, we could see streets lined with stalls all selling designer goods. Tom, being extremely excited about this, was somewhat disappointed with the quality but it didn't stop us having a browse for a few hours. We then had the nicest Grab driver take us to a recommended restaurant near to where were were staying. It was in the Klcc called Mamma Kwan... and boy was it busy! We were given a card and waited around 15 minutes. The service was quick and to the point and the food was clean and yummy. We then had a late night browse around the shops before heading back for some well needed shut eye!
