Stockholm… Max and I were in Stockholm for 1.5 days. We stayed at Ronja's and Robin's (Ollerup students) place which was lovely and was really great to see them. We met up with Max's friend (Oskar) the first night and he showed us around town which was quite nice at night though it was a little bit rainy. We then found a coffee place (Wayne's Coffee) and had ice-cream and coffee, was soooo good.
The next day was a day spent in Stockholm. We started by visiting the Circus School/University in Stockholm. The one Max and I applied for but didn't get in. It was a pretty cool place and of course Max met a lot of friends there. We then headed back into town and visited Stockholm's entertainment centre called Globen. It's a huge white globe shape centre, that's pretty much it. Next stop was the Old Town which is so beautiful. Such a nice area with old houses and cobblestoned streets and lots of souvenir shops. Yes I got my postcards and shot glasses.
After the Old Town we went to the Royal Palace where we saw the guards taking out the rubbish. Not a normal daily thing you see… guards in their uniform taking out rubbish, I guess it's part of their duties but still it was a funny picture. Oh get ready for this next piece of exciting news. After taking some handstand photos on the grounds of the Royal Palace a black car drives out and Max says "oooh I wonder if there's someone important in there" (well something along the lines of that). I was holding my big camera but was somehow in a trance or mesmerised by the car, I was just watching it drive past and as it did I saw a pretty lady in there who then waved to me and so I waved back (still in a tranced mood). Then Max told me it was the Crown Princess (Viktoria)!!! Too late for the picture as the car had disappeared around the corner. But that's pretty awesome! And it was only Max and I there too, how special do we feel… hehe. The change of guards was soon after which was pretty cool to watch.
We later saw Parliament, Old Opera House and the shopping street and then made our way to meet another of Max's friend, Elias. We walked through Stockholm's Technical University where we saw many students dressed up in crazy and funny clothes/costumes getting ready to party (this is what they do at the beginning of uni here in Sweden). Anyways we went to Elias's apartment and watched some videos of him from when he performed in Cirque du Soleil's Corteo in the teeterboard act. He was telling us about his experiences with Cirque and everything, it was great to hear. Just before heading back to Ronja's we played around with the uni's Danshögskolan sign. It was so cool, we did handstands and balances on it and took lots of photos. At one point we had 2 security guards come up to us and say that we can't do this sort of stuff with alcohol in us… haha we laughed and told them we weren't drunk, just crazy gymnasts having fun.
Anyways so that was our day in Stockholm. The next day we caught a 9-hour bus to Umeå, north of Sweden, Max's hometown. The next adventure of my travels…
